OpenCode
OpenCode adds local and remote MCP servers in opencode.json. A local server is a command. A remote server is a URL, with OAuth or headers.
What the docs say
The OpenCode MCP page says OpenCode supports both local and remote servers. Local servers set type to local and a command array. Remote servers set type to remote and a url. The page does not name SSE as its own type.
Auth. Remote servers can send headers, including an Authorization bearer token. OpenCode starts OAuth when a remote server returns 401, uses dynamic client registration when the server supports it, and can take a pre-registered clientId and clientSecret. opencode mcp auth starts that login. Set oauth to false for a server that should use a header instead.
Limits from the docs
- The page warns that MCP tools add to the context window, and names the GitHub MCP server as one that can grow large.
- Organization defaults can arrive from a .well-known/opencode endpoint and stay disabled until the local config sets enabled to true.
Setup
- Add an mcp entry in opencode.json or opencode.jsonc with a unique name.
- For a local server, set type to local and command. For a remote server, set type to remote and url.
- Run opencode mcp auth when a remote server needs OAuth.

Compatibility rule
A listing is included when its directory transport token is one this platform's docs describe. The token is SSE when the transport label contains “sse”; otherwise HTTP when the label contains “http” or the listing has a hosted remote endpoint; otherwise stdio when the label contains “stdio”; otherwise undeclared. Undeclared listings are left out. This is a transport match, not a connection test. MCPwell has not run these servers inside this platform.
Directory transports counted here: local stdio, remote HTTP.
A local command is filed as stdio. A remote URL is filed as HTTP. SSE-only listings are left out because the page does not name SSE. Example servers on the page are not a gallery.
Officially listed is a separate mark. It is used only when this platform's own directory or connector gallery names that server and the name matches one listing in this directory. A sentence in a setup example is not a gallery listing. The mark is not a connection test.
